Circulation Policy
Purpose:
The purpose of the Circulation Policy is to clarify the basic use of library materials.
- New patrons are limited to one DVD and three books for the first 2 months. New child patrons whose responsible party have a card in good standing for longer than 2 months will not be subject to a probationary period.
- Loan periods are calculated based on open business days.
- DVD’s have a 3-day loan period, with the exception of television series DVDs consisting of four or more discs, which have a 2-week loan period.
- All other materials including books, audiobooks, kits, and magazines have a 2-week loan period except for current adult periodicals, which have a one-day loan period.
- Three DVD’s may be borrowed per card.
- There is no limit to the number of loans for any other type of materials.
- Materials are not censored. Parents are responsible for the type of material their children borrow.
- Items may be renewed in person, by phone, or on our website two times, provided the title is not on hold for another patron.
- Library materials may be placed on hold in person, by phone, by email, or on the library’s website. Items are held for seven days unless other arrangements are made.
- After seven days, items are passed on to the next patron with a hold or re-shelved.
- Patrons are responsible for the condition of materials while in their possession.
- Replacement costs for lost or damaged materials require a cash payment or a replacement copy of the same item unless other arrangements are made with the library director.
- Patron accounts owing over $20.00 will have circulation privileges suspended, unless arrangements for a payment plan are in place.
